Education Day

The Battle of Anderson is pleased to announce our Education Day will be on Friday, April 3rd, 2020, at 715 Due West Road, Honea Path. Our mission on Education Day is to share the true history of America’s Civil War with the school students of our community. With hands on displays and demonstrations, students will step back in time to the 1860s.

Education stations will be set up around the field for student groups to visit throughout the day. Students will learn of Soldier’s Camp Life; Civil War Music; Infantry Period Weapons; Artillery ~ firing of a period canon; Ladies Period Dress; Visit Union and Confederate Camps; and more. We encourage students and teachers to come with questions and cameras and spend a day in the 1860s.

The site will be open from 9am until 4pm. You may bring your own lunch. The Picnic Tent will be available with table and chairs for your lunch needs. To preregister a class or group, please complete and mail the attached form. Once we receive your preregistration, we will send you a verification notification via email or mail.

Education Day is special for us as it is our opportunity to spend time with the kids of our community and share this important turning point of American history. Please contact us with any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you and your kids on April 3rd!
